Ok, maybe we can win this game. I am pissed. The Yankees are not playing well. Hal was in the stadium today to meet with the ticket staff. Go Damon he just hit a 2 run blast. Tie gameThe idiot can still play. Anyway, Hal said he was not meeting with Giradi and is cutting him slack due to the injuries. they asked how does he feel knowing that it was 2 decades ago George would have sent him packing. Giradi said i don't think about. He just doesn't think.
y=Yeah, Obama gave us the stimulus package and it may assist people in the short term. But i hope everyone read all the reports that stated this plan will more than double the U.S. national debt in about 2-4 years and more than 5 times in about ten years. Problem-Clinton left us in a recession when he left the Oval. bush failed to address the economy like he failed to address everything. Obama is 2 inexperienced and lazy. If only Reagan or Teddy Roosevelt were around. Or, our nation's smartest president ever,Thomas Jefferson
I started a new work out routine it rocks. i am shocking my body and loving it. Gotta be ready to play Chappytraz and have dead fish fights in camp. Anyone up 4 that?

Yankees, Kevin Smith, Sith and Superheroes
Well all,
Thanks for your comments on the Yanks. I've been arguing with people about Torre v. Giradi. Some say the best thing that ever happened to the team is Giradi. Torre holds the 5th best winning record as a manager in all of baseball. So that ends that.
Okay, I love Star Wars. I'm a Sith. I love the Hulk and will see wolverine this weekend. I saw the Watchmen, Spiderman, etc.
My question and I think only Kevin Smith may know the answer. If a super hero went up against a Sith or a Jedi who would win? My money is on the Forces. Hands down a Sith or Jedi can defeat any superhero. Some maybe tougher. But Midi-chlorians are stronger than what is in the superheroes blood stream. Please comment.

Joe Giradi
He was a great player for the Yankees. However, a manager he is awful. I really don't like him. He shows no confidence when he's sitting in the dugout. I miss Joe Torre. I really miss Billy Martin.
Oh well. We need to start winning.

Baseball season, camp
Well, I was at the Stadium again. It was pouring. The game was PPD. I stayed until they tossed. But hey with baseball season in progress. It means camp is coming soon. Time to get out the sleeping bags, propane laterns, frisbees and shorts. I can't wait to jump into Rock Lake, the Delaware or the TMR.
Yes, we eat lousy food. But we drink good beer.... Later.

My first day at the new Stadium
At around 10:00 a.m. I hopped on the R to 59th and Lex. I transferred to the 4 and got off at 161st Street. As we approached 161st, people cheered as the subway pulled into the station and looked out the subway car’s window, at the new stadium. It glittered brighter than gold.
I was looking out the other window and saw the House that Ruth Built. My eyes were teary, as I saw an empty field. Dirt was everywhere. There was no grass, no pitcher’s mound, no bases and no batter’s box.
I exited the station and immediately walked to the old stadium. I was far from the only fan doing this. We all put our hands on it and walked around it. Parts of it were boarded up. I shot many pix. I leaned against the wall and davened (prayed). Yeah, I know I broke the rules today. I am not always good. Yes, I was in Shul last night. But today I was standing in front of a different Shul.
I looked at the wall by the now closed Gate 2 and said the Shema. My mind drifted. I imagined what it must have been like when we had the temple. One day, it will be rebuilt. One day the Stadium will meet a wrecking ball. Right now it is the holiest fully standing structure on the planet.
I crossed the street and walked into the new stadium. It is overwhelming. It feels like you’re walking into Disney World or the Mall of America. The place is super clean and loaded with stores, eateries, bars and pictures of the greats, Gehrig, Ruth, Mantle, Jackson, DiMaggio, Berra, Munson and the list goes on. After all, no team has had better players than the Yanks. Cooperstown was built for them. In fact, 70 years ago today was when the greatest player in the history of baseball and well, in the history of sports took himself out of the line up.
I bought my yearbook and program. I walked over to the store and bought some stuff. Yeah, I need to exchange the shorts tomorrow. No big deal. I need a different size.
I wandered toward Monument Park. For some reason it was closed. I got on the line for the museum. It was super long. So I got off and walked around the stadium. It is beautiful. I looked out at the field and saw all the usual ads, Budweiser, Canon, MasterCard, and MetLife. Of course the MetLife ad had a picture of the greatest shortstop of all time, Snoopy in his uniform.
I went to my seat, which was in the Grandstand section. In other words, super nose bleed seats. It is even higher than the nose bleeds in the ghost across the street. The field looks nice. They played all the same music. If only they could find something different to play than Cotton Eye Joe. That song is so tired. The way the Yankees played today, they should have played Everybody Hurts, by R.E.M. or Boys Don’t Cry, by the Cure. I wanted to cry.
The stadium has a nice feel, but something is missing. I guess what’s missing is the classic feel the empty, but in many ways full structure across the street had. The new stadium is beautiful and feels nice. However, it just doesn’t have the feel of the House that Ruth Built, where I saw Hall of Famers, Reggie “Mr. October” Jackson and Rich “Goose” Gossage play and of course future Hall of Famers, Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera play. Maybe one day it will have a classic feel. Jeter and Rivera will play for a few more years in the new building. Hopefully, when Torre goes into Cooperstown he goes in as a Yankee. I can’t see him going in for any other team.
I am sure we will produce more Hall of Famers in years to come. But ultimately, my heart will always be with the most historic sports stadium in the history of the world.
I exited the stadium and walked across the street and put my head against the wall of the original Stadium. The two people standing there said, “Do you miss it”? I responded,” Yes, the new stadium is nice, but this is where baseball belongs”. They agreed. I walked to the 4 and went home.
I’m sorry if I bored you. I know I will get some nasty comments. Most likely they will come from Rodney and the Douche. Of course, one of those people was the greatest scoutmaster on the planet and best camp leader ever. Of course, I understand he spends most of his time fetching honey. He did help shape my life in too many ways to count. The other, is one of the coolest people I have ever met. A great guy to talk about sports, music, politics with and well, the world we live in and life in general.

Yankees and Obama
I am glad to see we won today. Go Pena. So A-Roid will be back in about 2 weeks. Who do we believe Selena Roberts, of Sports Illustrated all the recent allegations-roids as a Yankee, in high-school, stealing pitches or he is innocent of that mess?
I am going to Sat. and Sun.'s games.
Ok, Obama on the CNN poll got a C+ as on overall rating, women gave him the C+, men gave him a C. How that adds up to C+ who knows. Crooked math? Just like his nature? All talk and no action. When will he go to work and stop trying to be a movie star? Or when will he go to Hollywood and just audition for movies, maybe Brad Pitt can be president at least we'd have a hot, intelligent and classy first lady in Angelina.
Anyway, camp is about to start and baseball moves on.

Yell @ me.
Sorry, friends for disappearing. So baseball season has started. I think the bombers need better chemistry. Unfortunately, that left with George not running the show. Torre, Mel and Zim too. Giradi was a good Yankee player. Not sure if he has the balls to be a good manager in NYC.
But, hey Jeter, Posada and Rivera still rock. What's with Wang? We need him to pitch well.
The new Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys albums rock!!!!!
Later-MS

Opening day
Yeah, it is coming soon. But tickets are so hard to get. I wish the Yankees would just sell single game tickets without the hassle. Anyway, some of the boys from summer camp are planning a reunion. It should be fun this summer. We will hang before and do some drinks in the city.

A-Rod
Yeah, he used steroids. He's human. The Secretary of the Treasury didn't pay his taxes. The former governor of Illinois is a sleaze bag. The only cool people left are those of us getting ready to go to camp. None of us will use roids when we play baseball, swamp canoes and just wander around Indian Cliff, Picture Window and Old Cocheton

Camp
It is almost time to ditch the winter coats, hats and gloves. Soon we will put on shorts and t-shirts and BBQ and sing camp songs. I just hope Obama doesn't screw that up. I want to give him a chance. But I don't trust him. He has no experience.

United Nations Amnesty International Gran Torino
Hey, all,
Well my short story is in edit stages and will appear online in a few weeks. I used to think the UN tried to promote peace, but they it needs to be disbanded and turned into NYC coops. The place supports terrorism. Hamas has been firing rockets at Israel for 2 years, despite the truce they agreed 2. The UN never said a word about that. Israel decides to protect herself and the UN blasts the. The same can be said for Amnesty International it needs to go away. It supports Hamas. I wrote a note to them after they sent me an EM, I do like to what they are doing and has thought it was a good group. They blasted Israel for defending themsevles. They never once blasted Hamas or Hezbollah for attacking Israel. I never thought that group was made up of anti-semites, but it just like the UN is chock full of them.
Onto Clint Eastwood's movie, Gran Torino. I just saw it. A decent movie, but so overhyped. It was nothing but a typical predictable Eastwood movie. He's a great actor. One of the best, but he aways plays the same role. His latest was nothing different.
Camp is coming.

baseball
To reply back to one of my blog readers, I hate the Mets. The only team, I hate more is the Red Sux. I love the Yankees.
Anyway, it is almost time for them to usher in a new stadium. It pisses me off that the real one is going away. But they will win it all in the new one. I still wish Giradi wasn't the manager. he sucked.

Baseball
Well, it is almost time for pitchers and catchers to report. I hope Posada is healthy. We need him. He has 2 good new pitchers to work with. I still wish we would resign, Andy Pettite. Hughes and Kennedy are not ready for the majors. I am not even sure they are ready for Single A.

Story and NYC Subway
The story is finished. It is being edited. I will probably publish online or sell it and do a signing in Barnes and Noble. LOL.
So did you ever wonder if the NYC Subway could move any slower than it does. The E, V and R lines over the last two days have sucked. I mean like super slow.
Hey, almost baseball season and more important, almost time for camp.
